These are some of my favorite thrift shop finds in January. I'm pretty sure they're starting to recognize me at Goodwill and the Salvation Army but I don't think that's such a bad thing ;). I started classes today and one of my awesome professors claimed she is the biggest "Goodwiller" ever but I beg to differ! You may see some of these items added to my etsy shop or I may keep them all because I have a really hard time selling some of my favorite finds! I am terribly in love with the plaid shirt (a vintage item that actually fits me!) and the denim apron.
Well. It's 14 days into the new year and I have lost the majority of the inspiration and drive that I felt going into 2015. I'm sincerely hoping that I'm just sick of this cold and when it warms up a bit I'll be ready to take on my small corner of the world! I'm taking on photography and hand embroidery this year and I also started an etsy shop. I'm also considering something I told a friend to do earlier this week. She went through something recently that's got her a little down and I told her to make a list of all the things she loves about herself and slowly add things to the list as she discovers new things she loves about herself. I don't think that's a vain or narcassistic thing to do because all it does is build up your own self confidence and esteem. Even if everything in your life is going great and your confidence is high, I think making a list of what you love about yourself may just drive your inspiration and motivation! Here's to 2015!
AND I cannot stop listening to BigLittleLions on Soundcloud. Their sound is amazing! https://soundcloud.com/biglittlelions/the-way-home This song, Act of the Apostle Part 2 by Belle and Sebastian, is too good! Really this whole album is worthy of numerous repeats but I just enjoy this song the most! Perhaps I'll check out the movie (God Help The Girl) and write a little review :)
I am in love with this food inspired sweatshirt! It's on sale right now for $29.90 with free shipping! It comes in white and black. Check out this sweatshirt and other good deals at: _ I'm also entirely love with this Jane Austen print on Etsy! The quote says
"If adventures do not befall a young lady in her own village she must seek them abroad." Love it! This shop has tons of other col quote too! Link: _ I stumbled across Rebecca's blog and immediately fell in love. Her style is perfect and her photography and editing are also great! She gives fabulous hair and makeup tutorials and gives suggestions for outfits. She has an all around awesome blog that she clearly invests a lot of time in so check out her awesomeness!
I bought these necklaces at ridiculously low prices today at my local Plato's Closet. The key necklace is Fossil and it was only $3! Of course, I can't pass up any ice cream themed jewellery so I had to get that awesome necklace as well. If you have a Plato's Closet in your area and you haven't checked it out yet, go do that!
I love necklaces because they're any easy way to pull an outfit together. Be creative and stack necklaces (although my necklaces usually get tangled up when I try that but maybe it will work for you!). Branch out a little bit in 2015 and buy some jewellery you wouldn't have bought in 2014!
Just be more optimistic... You don't have to change your entire image or who you are. An easy thing you can change about yourself today, at this very moment, is your attitude. Find the bright side of every situation. The bright side may not be much better than the other view of the situation, but make yourself focus on the positive--always. Being optimistic can positively affect your relationships, your sleep, your job performance and more. Look to those in your life who are always smiling and chance are, they're optimistic people. Just try it out! You can always go back to being pessimistic...I suppose. FIND YOUR OPTIMISM IN 2015. |
